What is the best time to swim with the whales? Generally July to the end of October.
How do I get to Vava’u? Fiji Airways direct into Vava’u. Australian carrier into Tongatapu, domestic carrier to Vavau. Air New Zealand into Tongatapu, domestic carrier to Vavau.
What banking services are available? The local Bank of the South Pacific offers ATM’s and a currency exchange.
What can I expect on a whale swim charter? Your crew will use their experience to locate and approach suitable whales. An experienced guide will then escort you to the whale when the boat’s captain is satisfied. If time permits we can stop and snorkel at Swallow’s Cave. Please understand that whales are wild animals and not all whales want to be swum with.
How many days should I book? We recommend 3 days minimum.
How long is the charter day? Tongan Regulations restrict the day to 7 hours.
How many guests are on the boat? Maximum 8.
How many swimmers can be in the water at the same time? Maximum 4 swimmers and the guide.
Can children attend? Only if totally supervised by their parents.
What should I bring? Hat, sun glasses, sun screen, towel, light rain coat and sea sickness medication if required.
Do you guarantee that we will swim with whales? We can not guarantee that you will swim with whales, they are wild creatures, however chances are high.
